Dr. Michael F. Gorman is a faculty member at the University of Dayton. He has previously held positions in Supply Chain Solutions, eBusiness, Operations Research, Service Design, marketing, and Finance at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company.
Dr. Gorman has published and refereed research in topics such as asset management, optimization in a rail setting, pricing theory and practice, inventory strategies, and business cycle dynamics.
He also received numerous awards at BNSF for his work and has won teaching awards from Indiana University and the University of Dayton. He has more recently chaired the Rail Applications Special Interest Group of INFORMS.
Dr. Gorman has a Ph.D. in Business and Economics from Indiana University, an M.S. in Economics from Indiana University, and a B.S. in Computer Science and Economics from Xavier University.
